Outliers

An Outlier is the values that are too big or too small compared to the other values.

Eg:

6, 7, 8, 10, 21

Smallest: 6

Largest: 21

range

The range is the positive difference between the largest and smallest values.

Eg:

3, 3, 6, 8

Smallest: 3

Largest: 8

Mean

To find the Mean:
Add up all the values and divide by how many values there are.

Eg:

1,1,4,5,5,5,

1 + 1 + 4 + 5 + 5 + 5 + =  21

Value- a known or calculated amount

E.G. 1 + 2 = 3

Constant- a number that does not change and it increases or decreases the value of the expression

E.G. -9 + 8

Numerical Coefficient- a number that multiplies the variable

order of operations

1.you follow the order of operations B- brackets
E- exponents
D- divistion
M- multiplication
A- addition
S- subtraction
There are no brackets, no exponents, but there is divistion and
multiplication.





2. if there is multiplication and divistion then you have
to go left to right. So we do 4x3 first. Once you've answered it everything else falls straight down.

3. Next you do 12 divided by 2. Once you've answered everything falls straight down.

4. You have to do addition or subraction now. There is no subtaction, so you do addition. Remember to always box in your answer.
